Summary

Working with the Youth Supervisor to support the Council’s youth provision within the parish, by working directly with children and young people, helping them to build life skills and confidence, develop healthy relationships and make decisions that are right for them.

Key Activities

· learning about the area in which projects take place, and the needs of young residents

· assisting in the setting up and running projects and programmes of activities for young people

· providing opportunities for young people to talk openly and confidentially

· assisting in developing and implementing ways to involve young people in projects – for example, by providing feedback or being involved in decision

· directing young people to sources of advice

· identifying concerns about young people involved in programmes, reporting these to the Youth Supervisor if necessary

· assisting with the recruitment of volunteers

· working with other organisations, such as other councils, schools, community groups and the police.
