The Youth Bus

We are excited to announce that we have a new addition to Worth Parish Council – a mobile Youth Bus!

After the sudden closure of Sussex Clubs for Young People at the end of June, we have worked tirelessly to maintain our youth support services in Copthorne and Crawley Down. We have now employed a Youth Worker and we have secured The Purple Bus at no extra cost to residents. This youth club on wheels will now be called The Youth Bus.

It is full of equipment such as footballs, badminton, table tennis, arts and crafts as well as tables and chairs, a sink, and a microwave allowing us to provide snacks.

Health and Nutrition Classes

During the February half term we offered young people in Copthorne and Crawley Down the chance to come along to a free cookery class. These Quesadilla Cookery Classes were aimed at 9-14 year olds and were a huge success.

Nearly 40 children came along and prepared, cooked and ate their own quesadilla.

"My daughter and her friend absolutely loved it. It was so nice to have something different for children of her age (13) to do over the holidays. A fantastic idea and I really hope that you do more things like this again in the future. Thanks ever so much to everyone involved with organising and who were there on the day."

We plan to run more classes in the school holidays so do keep a look out for more details by following us on Facebook.
