CCTV: Your Opinions Wanted

CCTV Project
Phase 1 of our CCTV Project includes the installation of CCTV on Copthorne Village Green and on Station Road in Crawley Down. Work has now been completed in Copthorne. In Crawley Down, the decision has been made to look at the feasibility of upgrading the 3 static analogue CCTV cameras currently located at 2 Station Road and 3b Station Road, with 2 static IP cameras and 1 pan tilt zoom camera. This is instead of the previously planned location across the road, in front of the Memorial Car Park. The shops' location is thought to provide ideal coverage, is a cheaper solution and will avoid issues of UK Power Networks connection times, the need for Highways to grant a license for the works and for temporary 4-way traffic lights with impacts on traffic, bus stops and timings. We are therefore currently liaising with the relevant parties to get the necessary agreements in place for this work to take place and once done, we will be able to confirm installation dates.
Once Phase 1 has been completed we will be considering future phases of the project. If you have any views on whether further CCTV cameras should be installed in Copthorne and Crawley Down, and if so where they should be, then do get in touch before midnight on Sunday 12th October. You can email us at enquiries@worth-pc.gov.uk or phone us on 01342 713407 (phone lines are open from 9am-2pm, or you can leave a message on our voicemail).
