Copthorne Recreation Ground Project
Published: 01 May 2026
We’re really pleased Warwick Landscaping has made excellent progress during the first week of work at Copthorne Recreation Ground.
Our Chairman, Tony Dorey and the Lead Councillor for the project, Graham Casella, visited the site yesterday to see the progress for themselves.
The old playground equipment has been fully removed and excavation is well underway for the new car park. All materials being taken off site are being carefully segregated to maximise recycling wherever possible.
Work will begin next week on the new car park entrance which will involve temporary traffic lights on Copthorne Bank for around five working days.
Please be aware the bus stop outside the recreation ground will be suspended from Tuesday morning until the new access is complete - we have already notified Imberhorne School and believe parents should receive a notification.
We are committed to delivering this project safely, responsibly and considerately but if you need to report an issue, please contact our Project Manager, Paul Budgen of PBA Planning, on (01342) 718827 or our office on 01342 713407.
